Testimonials

Picking a nursery for your child is a very difficult task as you need to know that they will be happy and cared for as you would care for them. From the first day Holly started at EFN I was sure we had made the right decision in choosing her nursery. The staff helped her to settle in very quickly and she soon became firm friends with many of the children. She loves the day to day activities the children get to take part in - especially the messy ones! She is given continual opportunities to try new things and the staff make sure she gets the most out of everything she does.

The staff at EFN are obviously committed to the well-being of the children in their care. Any request I have made with regard to Holly's care has been fulfilled. They ensure that the children are challenged in the activities they participate in, but also ensure that they have fun. Holly also tells me that they give great cuddles! The staff also make time for us at the end of each session to fill us in on what Holly has been doing throughout the day. This is an important aspect of care for us as it allows us to speak with Holly about what she has been doing and also to build on the learnings at home.

Comment from our clients

I would have no hesitation in recommending EFN as a loving and caring environment in which to place your child.

Rebecca Ramsay (Kilmarnock)

After a long search for a good nursery we came across EFN and are very glad we did. EFN has exceeded our expectations in every way from day 1. All of the staff have provided excellent care to my son and made his time at nursery a very happy and enjoyable time. He came on leaps and bounds from when he started. He (and mum and dad!!) will miss everyone at the nursery so much. Well done to all staff for the excellent care you have always provided.

Carmen Miller (Erskine)

Enchanted Forest Nursery is like our extended family! I consider the care of the children to be first class, with a big emphasis placed on my son's happiness, health and education from his first day in the nursery when he was six months old. And all this has helped me to feel much better about being a working mum too!

Catherine Fox (Erskine)

Mariessa and her team at the Enchanted Forest Nursery create a loving and fun place to come to everyday - they are our extended family. We have complete confidence in the staff and know that they take the best possible care of Jonathan. An excellant nursery where Jonathan has blossomed and gained so much confidence, all this in a lovely safe and peaceful setting where the children always come first. EFN is a wonderful part of our lives. EFN offers Jonathan an excallent early childhood education with great opportunities to explore and play. Everyone at EFN knows Jonathan and his personality well. EFN has a friendly and fun atmosphere. EFN offers Jonathan experience that he would not have got at home. EFN staff are always friendly, approachable and understanding. We love everything!

Sandra and Charles Hunter (East Kilbride)

EFN has always provided our children with a safe and caring environment, where parental involvement has been actively encouraged. The well trained staff quickly develop a rapport with the children and the key workers can be relied upon to know how our children are doing on a daily basis.

Graeme & Jeanne Blair (Erskine)

Any parent researching suitable child care would be hard pushed to find a superior nursery. As you drive through the Mar Estate towards the nursery you see wild rabbits on the grass, lovely old trees and beautiful gardens which instantly gives you a sense of comfort knowing that your children are surrounded by such lovely grounds. Parents can park outside and enter the nursery with their children safely, avoiding busy main roads and excess traffic. The nursery itself is spacious and welcoming and decorated with colourful exhibitions of the activities undertaken by the children and staff . The garden is safe and full of activities for the children, both fun and developmental. The staff are excellent in terms of the care and attention they provide the children. Many of the staff have been with EFN since it opened its doors and have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to the excellent care of my children over the past 3 years. As working parents we see The Enchanted Forest is an extension of our home.

Julie MacMillan (Erskine)

The Nursery has been fantastic for our son and for us, and he has come on leaps and bounds from what he learns there everyday. He gets excited when he's going there to see the friends he's made.

Jennifer Gordon (Erskine)

My daughter started EFN in November 2008 when she was only 7 months old , she has been a little ray of sunshine since she started.. her abilities and personal development have come on so well in the months at EFN and this is down to the hard work and dedication of the staff. It’s a very friendly and welcoming place to be and Rachael adores her key worker Louise

Jacqueline Broadhurst (Parklands,Glasgow)

EFN has played a pivotal part in my baby’s life, as she has been there since she was 8m old. Now a 2yr old, Abbie constantly amazes me with the skills she is learning at EFN. Abbie is a very confident young girl – and that is in part due to the love and care of the staff at EFN. EFN is a youthful and vibrant establishment, with wonderful & attentive staff, and plenty to keep the children occupied. I offer my thanks to EFN for keeping Abbie safe and happy whilst I am at work.

Moira Burns (Partick)

My son has been at EFN since 9 months and has always been encouraged to grow and express himself as an individual by friendly and happy staff. He is always welcomed with a warm cuddle, which helps me go to work knowing he is at a place he loves, being well looked after. The planned activities mean he gets the opportunity to try new things with his little friends and provides variety to his day. He particularly likes playing outside and singing songs! When I collect my son, the staff take the time to give me a short personal update on his day, so I can talk to him at home about what he has enjoyed. Thanks to EFN for keeping him happy and secure whilst I am at work.

Kathy Weir (Gourock)

Since starting EFN2 our daughter has gained a whole new family in both the staff and other children, her confidence has gone from strength to strength and she is becoming more and more independent every day, while learning new skills such as walking, talking and feeding herself. This is down to the sheer dedication of all the staff. To see her excited when we arrive at nursery (not to mention the tears when we leave!) means so much as we know that she feels safe and cared for there. Every single member of staff at EFN2 knows our daughter well The very high standards set at the nursery are evident every day. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending EFN to anyone looking to put their child into a nursery, being able to go to work and know your child is safe and happy while learning and feeling loved is a great feeling and I can’t thank EFN2 enough for this.

Elaine Cheatley (Barrhead)

When I first looked at nurseries within the local area I thought they were all very similar. What I got with EFN was more then I initially imagined for my son. The team of staff are very friendly and work well with him. They are always welcoming and take the time to discuss things with you. Over and above that I receive updates regularly about his progress via the staff, communication diaries, email updates and on top of that I am able to keep up to date with what is going on within the nursery both by the email correspondence sent and by being a member of the parents forum. EFN really take time to listen to both the children and parents to ensure that they deliver a good quality service.

Lesley Sharkey (Erskine)

Since moving my son to EFN I've been very impressed with the standard of care that is provided by Louise and her team. I like the fact that the management are very hands on and know all the children really well. My other son now attends too and the staff in the baby room are fantastic. The boys have so much fun they often don't want to come home!

Lisa McDougall (Newlands)

Our daughter has made friends for life at EFN, Thornliebank! A loving group of people, whom she will call her extended family for a llife long period, including the other children and staff alike.

Lisa Buik (Thornliebank)

This coming Summer our family have been with EFN for 5 years. They have cared for both my sons who are very different. The staff and Management at EFN have helpd to develop their strengths as individuals and have always kept us (the parents) very involved. If you need to talk about any matter, however big or small, you only have to ask. The staff are very friendly and always have time for every child and their families. The curriculum develops the kids and is fun, creative learning. My son will be sad to leave and tells me he will miss his favourite ladies and his walks in the lovely grounds. I have got to know some of the staff very well and they have a consistent group of girls and managers who talk about 'their' kids with enthusiasm and joy. In my opion you can't teach people that. Thanks EFN for caring for my children so well.

Julie Dunne (Erskine)

I would like to say the staff at EFN1 are doing a great job !! My son has been learning at a fast rate and we are delighted with his progress. The topics of the curriculum material have been great and I know our son has recently enjoyed learning about Rabbie Burns. We have now been made aware shortbread is from Scotland! For us EFN is like home from home and we regard all the staff as our extended family. Our son is a happy boy who loves going to nursery and again that's down to staff making the atmosphere a happy and warm one!!

Lorraine O'Neill (Erskine)

I feel the personal touch from each staff member makes EFN unique. I enjoy the occasional pictures of my child which brightens up my day at work. I enjoy reading his diary to see how he has been through the day and I enjoy the interaction from the staff when I pick up our son up at the end of the day. Each member of staff you have are enthusiastic and energetic. These attributes in my opinion make your company fantastic.

Steven Morris (Port Glasgow)

Lots of things make EFN unique - fabulous purpose built premises, brand new toys, parents section on website but for me what really makes EFN stand out is the staff. There is a real effort to make individual children (and parents) feel welcome, included and valued - you can feel it when you walk through the door.

Jane Bastida (Greenock)

I believe that EFN is unique first of all (in a very practical way) because the only time it is closed is between Christmas & New Year (this is extremely important for working parents and I am aware that many other Nurseries do not give such generous terms) and secondly the involvement that EFN gives to parents and families. It makes us feel as if we are a big part of our daughter’s day to day nursery routine, which, again, is very important for working parents. The newsletters, daily diaries, online profiles and events organised are a fantastic way of keeping abreast of what is happening. I think EFN is best serving families by involving them in the day to day activities within the nursery as they currently do. By continuing to encourage learning and development and also social skills, being at EFN is such fun for the children. Being in beautiful surroundings is definitely a huge bonus, as it means that walks around the estate are possible (weather permitting!) as well as outdoor play within the garden. We couldn’t have wished for anything better for our daughter.

Sharon Alison (Glasgow)

My son loves the EFN and literally springs out of his bed every Wednesday and Friday morning because he knows this is his nursery days. Every member of staff is very friendly. They all know my son’s name and greet him warmly every morning. The nursery provides a large range of activities, both indoors and out, and allows various opportunities for children of all ages to mix when they come together for parties and celebrations. The EFN has an online community system that allows parents and carers to log on and track their childrens’progress, view images of them in the nursery and examples of their work. Parents and carers can also update and individualise their childrens’ profiles e.g. update food likes/dislikes and leave comments for the staff to enhance communication between home and nursery. I have not heard of another nursery which provides such a service. The principles of the Curriculum for Excellence permeate through the daily activities in the EFN and I have noticed a marked improvement in my son's confidence and eagerness to learn and help out where he can. He is always quoting the nursery’s Golden Rules in the house – “Helping Hands, Listening Ears, Walking Feet and Quiet Voices (indoors)”

Leona Donnelly (Greenock)

While I don't have another childcare provider to compare EFN against,I believe EFN stands out from others by the way it involves the parents and families of the children with the newsletters, community pages and all the events ran by the nursery and Parent Forum. Our daughter is growing into a very confident and happy girl and a lot of this is down to her time spent at EFN

Scott Alison (Glasgow)

The ethos and approach of the nursery, which was promoted and established from the outset, made us feel confident that we were leaving our children in a warm and positive environment. I have to say that this has been completely reinforced by the manager and the rest of the team in Greenock and both of our children are happy and content at nursery. This is really important for us as we are leaving the children there full-time and are placing a lot of trust in others! The opening hours of the service and the flexibility this offers is a real advantage for parents like us who work out of town. The custom-built facility provides a bright, open and attractive place for the children to spend their time and all-weather access outdoors is a great feature.

Deborah McGregor (Greenock)

EFN is unique to me as a childcare provider as they are top class at communicating with parents, we're always made aware of what's going on in the nursery and EFN are using up-to-date systems for this through email, it's great to get pictures of my child to let us see what he is doing, the daily diary page is also great.

Alana Scullion (Greenock)

All the Staff are dedicated to making each and every child feel special, my daughter has attended EFN for 3 years (both Erskine and Greenock)she loves all the ladies who look after her and I feel content everyday while she is in their care.

Ashley Downie (Renfrew)

The main thing that makes EFN unique as a childcare provider is that the girls in my son's room seem genuinely happy to see him, they all know him and interact really well with him. I feel confident each time I drop him off at nursery that he will be well looked after and that he will have fun. Which I find extremely reassuring!

Sharon Fairlie (Cumbernaild)

One of EFN’s most unique features is its location. A safe environment with plenty of fresh air and great surroundings to investigate. Without a doubt though EFN management have sought to employ only the right calibre of staff. Staff who not only have a theoretical understanding of child care but who take personal satisfaction and enjoyment from looking after young children, it’s not simply a job for the staff. I have discussed the childcare my son receives at EFN with friends whose children attend other nurseries and without fail they do not meet the same standards that EFN constantly strive to achieve, continually seeking quality and care at top level. Since my son’s first week at EFN I have never had any cause for concern or worry about the level of care he will receive whilst away from me which is invaluable

Giselle McGill (Langbank)

The unique surrounding of the EFN Erskine is what makes it unique to ourselves. The fact the kids can go out and explore all around is something that no other nursery we had previously seen anywhere came close to offering. The mini day which is pretty unique also best serves our family as it is suited to our worklife that most other nurseries could not offer. We travel a 22 mile round trip to take our to nursey and the same when picking him up and I am sure we will do the same with our new addition. Definitely worth the extra petrol.

Chris Walsh (Glasgow)

Amazing Staff - very approachable staff with a great attitude to the children and to their work. They’re incredibly positive and enthusiastic, I get an update every day on how my daughter's day has been and anything I need to know about what she’s been doing and I if ever have any questions / concerns I’m confident in being able to talk it through with the team. Flexibility – over the 3 ½ years with EFN I’ve been able to adapt her routine / changing days etc as needed which as a full time working mum makes my life much easier as I’m confident that my daughter is being extremely well looked after. Communication – I love the fact that EFN communicate with me regularly via e-mail as I never miss anything! The newsletters are great and there’s ample opportunity to meet the staff and talk to the team when needed.

I joined the EFN3 team in April this year. I have 10yrs experience working with young children and their families and its all I have ever wanted to do, I love it. EFN is a great place to work with a great vision. Bernie and Mariessa don't just see it as a buisness, they really do care about every child, their families and their staff. The staff at EFN are great and made me feel really welcome when I joined their team. EFN is a fun and rewarding place to work. Happy enthusiastic staff are key to ensure the children have the best start to their precious lives. I wish EFN was around when I had my son 5yrs ago.

I have worked for EFN for just over a year and I must say what a pleasure it is working with such a great team of staff. Everyone is always warm and welcoming and its even nicer when a child says your name for the first time or tells you they love you.

Samantha Houston, Team Leader, EFN1

Our son has been attending EFN Greenock since the day it opened in March 2011. We were attracted to the convenient location and newly built custom premises. However, it was the excellent reputation and quality reports gained by the other EFN nurseries in nearby towns that was a deciding factor. We have been very happy with our choice. The staff, facilities, parent engagement etc are all a class above the previous nursery our son attended. Most importantly, our son is very happy and is progressing well. As he attends the nursery 4 days a week, I have no doubt that the nursery continues to play a key role in his social and educational development. I would have no hesitation in recommending EFN Greenock to other parents (and frequently do just that!).

Craig Miller (Greenock)

I was very reluctant to move my son from his old nursery but I am so glad I did. Enchanted Forest has been the best thing for him he is such a wee character, he has lots of friends and he loves all the staff in there. It was the best move I made for my son and I know he will miss the place when he leaves in June to go to school.

Allison Caskie

We chose Enchanted Forest as we were impressed with the spacious playrooms and overall nursery environment. The availability of mini days also appealed. Staff are always friendly and approachable and on nursery days our child is happy to arrive and often reluctant to leave!

Karen Rees

One of the things we love about Enchanted Forest is how much time the staff give us to tell us about our daighter's day when we pick her up. We never feel rushed and they make us feel very welcome. Our daugher always talks about them and loved going to nursery!

Fiona McGibbon (Erskine)

I would say that at Enchanted Forest Thornliebank a number of the original staff have remained the same and so has their work ethic. My child is in the 3-5 room and I think the three girls are doing an amazing job with the children. I was shocked to see my 3 1/2 yr old can nearly write the word LOVE and do kisses.

Laura Jones

Basically, the reasons I chose EFN were that I wanted to have my daugher close to me when I went back to work. I love my job and there was never any question of me not going back to work. So having a nursery on the doorstep of my workplace was exactly what I needed and the recommendations from work colleagues who already had children at Enchanted Forest Erskine made it a very easy decision for me. It has proved to be fantastic, both for me and for Sophie. The care at Enchanted Forest is second to none, the location is perfect, and the staff are wonderful. For practical reasons Enchanted Forest is a big hit too. Open on public holidays, no in-service days etc makes it absolutely perfect for the working mum.

Sharon Alison (Glasgow)

I love EFN because the staff take time to get to know each of the children personally and take time to understand their particular needs. When my son is a bit upset or needs reassurance one of "his ladies" will always know what to do to help him.....It's like one big happy family.

Pauline Bonnar

I have been with Enchanted Forest Nursery for 5 years now and I still have couple more years to go. My son and daughter are now in school and I now have my youngest daughter with Enchanted Forest Erskine and each of them love going to nursery and they all have great bonds with the staff. My older children still pop in and love to see the staff and they have great memories of their time in Enchanted Forest. When they started school they were set and ready to go as Enchanted Forest have helped with making them confident with tackling school work and within themselves which made them ready to make new friends. My youngest started Enchanted Forest in August and since then she has came on leap and bounds with talking and very confident in herself when it comes to playing, art work and learning how to be with other children, and how to make friends.

Graihagh Barr

Our family appreciate the approach and support we have seen from Enchanted Forest. The collaborative approach everyone has is great and staff are willing to work with us to try and provide the best support for my son – I have never experienced this kind of atmosphere in any other nursery or playgroup that we attended. It makes such a difference for my son but also for the whole family and this is what really puts Enchanted Forest apart from the others. Everyone has a great manner with the children and I have always found the staff to be very approachable. I wouldn’t (and haven’t!) hesitate to recommend EFN to friends and colleagues - our whole experience of working with this nursery has been a positive one for all of the family…

Lynn Spence

My son, who hadn't really been left with anyone before I went back to work, settled into Enchanted Forest far quicker than I could ever have imagined or hoped for, thanks to the warm, friendly and helpful staff. Enchnated Forest was recommended to me by numerous friends and also by My Family Care, a company employed by my work to find childcare solutions for their employees. Enchanted Forest has exceeded my expectations and has definitely lived up to the positive reports and comments I read/heard whilst deciding which nursery to use. My son loves going to Enchanted Forest and I can go to work happy that he will have a great day and is well looked after.

Katrina Sutherland

I have no hesitation in recommending Enchanted Forest Erskine. As a Parent, I go to work happy and content in knowing that my little one is being cared for in a safe, happy, loving and nurturing environment.
